Absolute cowboys. I bought a house in newcraighall and now regret it. They will seek you home that is a mess and then do nothing to fix what they’ve built. Avoid buying a house from them at all costs!!!

I purchased a house in April 2016 that was built by Avant/Betts in 2005. When roofers were cleaning my gutters they found that all the ridge tiles on the top of the house and down the south side had not been fixed at all and were just lying on the roof. A large pile of rusty nails were found in the gutter. This leaves me to believe that the tradesman who were laying the tiles had left the job and forgot to come back and fix them. It has cost me £500 to have them re-bedded and pointed. I know that this is a million to one occurrence and that the workmen just forgot. However I would have thought that Avant/Betts would jump at the chance to get good publicity and refund me the £500. Unfortunately they are not interested. Perhaps all the current owners of Avant/Betts homes in Menstrie should check that their ridge tiles are secure!
