Ben Clark Bespoke

Forbo furniture linoleum is a unique natural surface finish which combines better-than-carbon-zero sustinability credentials with a matt look and warm non marking touch. This kitchen uses a deep blue from the forbo range, with triangular integrated finger pull handles which reveal the birch plyood beneath. This slim joinery element (about 20cm deep) runs across the full width of the room providing a surprising amount of storage space. All done with push to open, and decorated in Farrow and Ball stiffkey blue to match the room, this creates a subtle unobtrusive piece, for a calm sanctuary bedroom feel. Beech vanity unit, and mirrored wall cabinets. Lovely planed all round beech used for the vanity, countertop and fingerpulls on the mirrored doors. The design is kept clean and minimal by considered details. The handle on the vanity unit is formed by a simple chamfer. The mirrored doors overhang slightly to conceal an LED strip. And the fingerpull is the same thickness as the counter which ‘frames’ the niche rather nicely.

Ben made and installed ceiling to floor cupboards in my spare room. From my initial contact him he was a pleasure - keen to understand and listen to what i needed, suggested ideas that complimented what i wanted, and utterly utterly professional. Ben made our kitchen, a couple of small kitchens for other spaces and various shelves for the dining room and bathroom. Each project was a collaborative process and from our end things went very smoothly; he had great ideas and a practical approach to the whole design process as well as an enthusiasm to combine ply with other materials we wanted to use. I’m sure we were quite demanding clients but Ben rose to every challenge calmly even with a new baby. We absolutely love our kitchen and we get many compliments from all who visit.

Ben was such a pleasure to work with on helping us with some bespoke design for our first flat. Ben is excellent at designing intelligent solutions to amplify the beauty of a room as well as its efficiency, all while using the most ecological and economical methods and materials. Ben designed and built us a headboard for our bedroom, which provides a beautiful backdrop to the room, which otherwise wouldn't have had space for decorations. He also cleverly incorporated hidden storage into it, which is a lifesaver. Second, he designed and built mirrored cupboards and a vanity unit for our new bathroom. Ben flexibly worked around our plumber who was installing the rest of the bathroom, and has lifted the entire look of our bathroom. I can't recommend Ben highly enough and will definitely use his services again for other projects around my home.

Ben worked with us to remodel our existing kitchen which was wonderfully retro but needed to be refreshed and made more contemporary, while still retaining a bit of its retro charm. We kept the existing yellow formica worktop and went for new plywood cabinet fronts and he also designed some superb bespoke shelf units plus a cabinet unit to house the fridge. The design process was enjoyable and very detailed. He presented us with a good range of choices, which we were able to visualise using his great CAD drawings. This was very helpful. When he came to work in our house, he was incredibly organised and methodical, with a meticulous eye for detail and finish and we cannot find fault with the final outcome. We are delighted with our new kitchen, which has brightened up the space enormously, it has exactly the contemporary feel we had hoped for, and more! We wouldn’t hesitate to ask Ben to come back to work on future projects. Thouroughly recommend getting in touch with Ben if you have a bespoke project in mind.

We chose Accustom for our new kitchen and additional furniture when we remodelled part of our home. Ben produced initial design ideas which were of high quality and were very useful in deciding on the final design. At each step we felt guided by his product knowledge, he also kept us well informed about costings. Ben did the fitting himself, and everything has been done to an exacting standard. We are delighted with our new kitchen and can wholeheartedly recommend Accustom.
