Paul from Copperfield Kitchens designed and built our kitchen for us. we had several quotes but felt more comfortable working with Paul than anyone else. He did a fantastic job and we are very pleased with our new kitchen. We would have no hesitation in recommending Copperfield kitchens to anyone.

Paul has worked for me on 2 projects. Firstly I was renovating an old cottage and needed a whole new kitchen. I knew exactly what I wanted from my previous house. I found Paul from Copperfield Kitchens from the internet, and as he was local had good reviews and seemed a pleasant chap, gave him the job. I explained what I wanted, and to the small details Paul listened , drew up the plans that we discussed and refined, and built for me a stunning kitchen that to this day I love, and still has the wow factor. It was exactly what I wanted and built to a high standard and quality that will last for ever. Paul also did some work on my garden. He built a beautiful flight of steps and also a gate. I am very surprised at the negative review as this was far rom my experience. Paul did a great job both times and I would highly recommend Copperfield Kitchens and would use them every time for similar work should it ever arise in future.

I don't usually ever write reviews but what happened to us was so unjust I feel the need to voice it to avoid other members of the public making the mistake we did. Paul told us he was a professional carpenter and kitchen fitter. He told us he would personally make our kitchen as he has done all of his others. He sold himself as very professional and to be honest, if I didn't have a hawk eye for quality and I wasn't at home most of the time, I probably would have continued to believe this claim. My husband and I feel like total mugs now we realise we were being taken for a ride. The first surprise was when the actual carpenter turned up to deliver the units he had made, which Paul had bought from him. Paul just brushed this off as if the lie he had told meant nothing. The problems started when Paul fitted these beautiful units. The units themselves are lovely. The quality of the fitting however is appalling. The list of problems and poor quality work, that we have either had to rectify or put up with as it is not possible to rectify, is endless. We began to realise he is neither a cabinet maker nor a professional kitchen fitter. We wanted to give him the benefit of the doubt, after several issues arising (which I wont even start on). However, the final straw was when he was placing wobbly shelves and botching a "blum soft close" mechanism, by removing half of the mechanism (presumably as the dimensions of the drawer were wrong) and carving grooves into the wood to try and make it work. We really began to feel anxious about the quality of his work, and that he really could not be relied on to be honest. When we raised issues he became defensive and used the excuse "I'm just not finished yet". This would have been OK, but when shelves are hung on the wall, they are finished. And he had actually told us the drawer was finished until it fell off the runners and my husband investigated the back to see half the mechanism missing. Lies and excuses. Paul himself was actually annoyed that we investigated the back of the drawer asking me "Why were you looking at the back of the drawer, I can't work like this". Why would you be annoyed unless you had something to hide? We asked him him to stop and have asked him to rectify the outstanding issues with the kitchen. He told us these would be on a "snagging list" at the end... presumably once he has all of the money. He has now stopped responding to our emails and we are left with half our money gone, and half a poorly fitted kitchen, which my husband has tried to rectify, and we now need to source an actual cabinet maker and carpenter to fit the rest. So upsetting. So disappointing. Attached is a photo of a bracket Paul broke and brought back ready to fit after he took it away to "repair". You would think for a £22000 kitchen, you might just make a new bracket? There is a photo of the groove made to fit the "blum" mechanism, damaging the drawer, as opposed to the presence of the actual part of the mechanism. The photo of the bracket it the dishwasher fitting. I had asked for all exposed pine to be painted in areas of moisture but this was left and presumably has been added to the "snagging list".

Copperfield Kitchens were recommended to us by a friend when we were proposing a full kitchen replacement. We discussed our initial thoughts with Paul, and he helped us to develop those ideas into a coherent and very efficient design. Paul also introduced us to his work by visits to a couple of recent projects. We subsequently commissioned Paul to complete our design and install the entire kitchen. He took on board a couple of design changes we requested during the course of the work, and these were undertaken without difficulty. He liaised with the granite suppliers and coordinated the appliance installation. Post-works, he kept in touch to ensure that we were happy with the kitchen.....I'm pleased to say we were delighted. We have no hesitation in recommending Copperfield Kitchens.

From the moment Paul from Copperfield Kitchens came to see us about our plans for a new kitchen we were impressed with both his drawings and his knowledge and professionalism. It was this reason we initially chose Copperfield Kitchens. Paul was always available during the construction of our new hand-built units and dresser and was always happy to answer questions and provide advice on final finish. He accompanied us to the Granite worktop supplier and again worked with them to ensure a perfect fit and finish. Now that the kitchen has been installed it looks beautiful and we would have no hesitation in recommending him to anyone else looking for a bespoke kitchen.
