Incompetent Surveyors. What is the point of viewing a high standard recently renovated property (not taking pictures and not viewing all of the rooms) to carry out a valuation when you are going to rely on the use of online websites to generate the value of the property. This company does not have no clue about the current market conditions or recently sold prices of property’s in the area. They are a complete waste of time and will down value your property. Unfortunately I had no control over this company as the bank decided to use them for their valuation. However I would strongly advise in rejecting any association with Countrywide Surveyors.

Countrywide surveyors have got to be the worst surveying company out there in the UK. I am not too sure why any bank would use them to survey properties and then on another hand i can see why as they down value peoples properties by £15,000 to save themselves money. The surveyor we had come out to value our property on behalf of our buyers mortgage company was in our property for literally 4 minutes, took 3 pictures and then left. His name was Josh. (Incapable of valuing a unique property). The buyers received the valuation back in a couple of days and to our amazement our property had been down valued by £15,000, reading the previous reviews it was something we was expecting. Never again would be allow this shocking company step foot in any other property family or friends purchase. We have since paid for an independent surveyor to come and value the house properly. The gentlemen was there for 40 minutes, looking around, taking plenty of pictures and asking some questions about the property. In his words, this is a very unique property so i will need to do my own research. 3 days later the valuation came back £10,000 more than Countrywide. Luckily our buyers are still proceeding on the basis of our independent valuation. Well worth the money. Avoid this company if you possibly can, not even worth 1 star.

If you are buying or selling and the mortgage company uses this company to carry out the survey. Be warned that's where the problems start. I think there more interested in causing issues with the sale or purchase rather than actually looking at what's going on with the market and seeing what properties have actually sold for. Wouldnt recommend this company to anyone.

I wish I could give less than 1 star. First of all we paid for valuation which we never get. Instead of this we received what our surveyor THINK may happen in the house, because he didn't find any evidence about stuff he wrote about. Also our report looked like one joke, like someone make copy and paste from couple different reports. Surveyor is saying that it was wet and raining when he inspected property. In same box he's writing that it was dry. He said that he wasn't able to inspect the roof, then couple pages later he's saying that roof have some problems. One page states that we don't have on property any permanent outside building, later that our permanent outside buildings needs attention. I could give lots and lots more examples of that kind things. Report is mostly his speculation, as he didn't provide any evidence about problems which he talks about. Absolute joke and waste of our time, as now we need to wait for bank decision what to do now, after they contacting your company. Also after writing to them email about our concerns and asking for explanation of some of stuff, we didn't received any answer. Absolute joke. Wouldn't recommend to anyone. AVOID!!! I wish our bank would use different company.

We had surveyor Matt Potts come around to value our house at the request of our Buyers Mortgage Provider (NatWest). Our buyers offered over asking price, which, after reading the reviews of Countywide Surveyors made me VERY nervous of them coming to assess our house. Our experience completely contradicts so many of the reviews. Matt was great, he rang the night before the scheduled appointment and let us know a more accurate ETA. He arrived promptly, was very polite and courteous and carried out a 10 minute visual check on the property and took some photos and measurements. Today (5 days later, including a weekend) I have heard that following the survey, NatWest have issued a formal mortgage offer to our buyers at the price they paid for our house. Very impressed with them.
