“Empty cans make the most noise” I wanted to give an opinion which you will not often get, so I’m typing this review from the perspective of an ex-neighbour of someone who, in the past, has had work done by Daventry Driveways. I must add that this review is completely genuine and that I have never met any of the team before, so bear no personal grudges. I’d like to start by saying that the work they did looks to be of a decent standard – therefore I am awarding 2 stars. HOWEVER, if you are reading this as a potential customer, there are some things you may need to know… Firstly, I found the man who seemed to be running the show to be extremely loud, brash and generally unpleasant. At least he’s the one covered in tattoos (surprise!) who seemed to be in charge. During the week he was working on a neighbouring property, all I could hear when the machinery wasn’t operating was his booming and very irritating voice, which he certainly seems to love the sound of. I could understand having to shout over the top of machinery, but the guy only had one volume level (a bit like a fog-horn with the most annoying tone you could imagine), even when the rest of us seem able to talk at a normal level. Believe me, after a week of hearing it, I’d had enough. It really was bad enough to prompt me to write this review. On top of this, the swearing between them was very apparent, despite their poor efforts to try to disguise it. Also, they seemed to be very inconsiderate to nearby property owners and road users, in fact to everyone else who wasn’t paying them money. They would park their vehicles wherever they liked, without a thought of knocking on a door or two to see if it was ok, causing various problems for other householders who needed to leave or enter their properties. To sum up, I would say they have only one thing on their minds and that’s to get the job done as quickly and efficiently as possible with zero consideration to neighbouring households. Granted, the end result looked good, but surely there has to be a degree of consideration here. I saw another neighbour approach one of them, only to be greeted with a hard glare. The guy then turned around and walked away without saying a word. Nice! So…if you get on with your neighbours and would like to continue to do so, I would definitely say go elsewhere. If you dislike them enough, then hire this bunch. Reading previous poor reviews, the standard response seems to be “I have no idea who you are!!”. In my case this would be true, but nonetheless the review is just as valid, having experienced them for what seemed like the longest week of my life!!

I searched this business out based on the previous reviews on Google. I text messaged (with it being a Saturday morning on the bank holiday weekend) with an explanation of the work intended to see if my job was too small and if he'd be prepared to come and look to give me a quote. Initial text response said he'd be available on the Tuesday morning following that weekend to come and see me. I let him know what time that I could wait in for him and confirmed my address. Sadly he didn't show up, then didn't answer his phone or text messages either. Never heard from again. If the job was too small, I'd prefer to have known. If there another reason you didn't show up, a quick call or text would have been great appreciated. It's a shame to leave a review like this because other reviews and pictures suggest great work.

What a beautiful Job you and the boys have made of our driveway, so pleased with the colours design and the care you have taken to make it so easy for me.. I hardly notice my disabilities because of your attention to detail. I am truly delighted and so is Kevin, can thoroughly recommend you your men and the zest you have all displayed to do the job well and so efficiently. Well done and thank you.
