We purchased our new house on the Hammonds Lea section of the Amblehurst development in November 2021. When we walked in on the day of completion the house had been professionally cleaned and had been finished to a very high standard, all very pleasing. I have spent my whole working career in the construction industry and fully understand the difference between a poor, good and excellent standard of finish, the workmanship on our house was and is excellent. We have now been living in the house for some 10 months and have only had to report 3 problems. The first was the heating failed one frosty morning in the winter. Within an hour of reporting the problem a heating engineer was at the door. He found the problem was a sticking motorized valve, he didn't give it the customary tap of a hammer to free it, he replaced it, and all done within an hour of him calling. The other problems were quite minor, and both attended to very promptly. The operatives that attended were all competent, polite and considerate in their approach, all most satisfactory. Having had this experience, and we have bought other new homes before, we would not hesitate to purchase another Devine Home. As a final point of the note the gas and electric bills have been far lower than I was anticipating as the build quality and insulation values of the house are, as far as I am aware, in excess for the current building regulations. Unfortunately my relationship with Devine has proved to be very poor after moving in. The after care is appalling. Works that require rectifying i.e. very large gaps on staircase, appalling painting works, groundwork’s, etc. you get same stock answer every time “give it 6 months and then let’s look at it again”. Stairworks attempted by Devine maintenance 3 times each time unsuccessful until eventually we had to pay for a Professional to carry out the works. Ceiling again wait another 6 months and so we have paid for a professional. They have one maintenance man for all after works (which never happens). Majority of homes have same problems and safe responses Devine refuses to give any contribution to the works despite it was from their poor workforce. Whoever heard of gardening by kango! We’ll be prepared to purchase a kango when buying a Devine home. Every plant we have planted we have to go through bricks, concrete, workman tools, to try and plant. They have laid turf just on top of concrete. Many more problems. Would never recommend Devine homes or ever purchase one in the future. Thank you for your response but you are totally inaccurate in your response. Yes works have been done in a timely manner but by ourselves and not Devine as said before we did not want to wait another 6 months. We did ask for a contribution to the works and forwarded the invoice but this was refused so we paid for the works Devine failed to do. We do have a crack in wall in garage from top to bottom and again told “wait 6 months”. From no 1 onwards each house has a tale to tell. I have asked that Chris visit site on two occasions but dismissed and told him I would never bother again and shame on Devine homes.

5 Star reviews are often treated with caution by readers, however our personal experience of buying a home from Devine Homes has been so good, it warrants the rating. The new home is fabulous, and Devine were very accommodating through the entire purchase process. The home is very well built and had a quality of build beyond what we have seen from other companies. Inevitably there were a few snagging items, but the Customer Service teams from Devine have been absolutely brilliant in ensuring these got fixed in a timely manner. I would have no hesitation in buying from them again based on our experience. Fabulous to get this standard of service, with such a personal touch. We genuinely feel that Devine want their customers to be happy with their new home, and we could not be more so.

Do not use So many issues with property Substandard property and not worth the money Very slow to sort anything out Will never use this company again And I am not the only person in a development that feels the same
