Phil Dickens built an extension for me in late 2013. His general work is OK but attention to detail is poor. This became clear once he'd fitted the kitchen and I found cupboards that weren't level, worktops poorly joined, cooker hood not fitted properly. Additionally, other areas weren't as I wanted - an outside tap fitted 2 metres away from the outside sink/drain (!), rendering left unfinished, bare elctrical wires left exposed, aerial socket not finished, badly fitted electrical sockets to name a few. It became clear that he wanted to get off the job as soon as he could, and much of the work was rushed. Once he'd 'finished' the job I tried to contact him several times to rectify some of these but he never returned any calls or replied to emails. Be warned, if he does any work for you, don;t pay until you are entirely satisfied because you won't be able to get hold of him afterwards. Despite the fact that he boasted about his work being insured I've never received the papaerwork promised. I also had to arrange for an Electrical Installation Certificate myself, which Dickens should have supplied. This certificate is important in getting final Building Regs authorisation. You need to raise your game Phil.
