I bought a hiblow air pump from Direct Drainage - I ordered from the website and received an order confirmation that my pump would be delivered within 2 working days - it wasn’t. I was charged £25 for delivery via DPD. I complained when the pump didn’t arrive on time and was informed that there was a ‘technical glitch’ with their website when I ordered. I was also informed that because a bank holiday had happened during my delivery time, no one was in the office and the ‘glitch’ had gone undetected. No effort was made whatsoever by the company to put the delay right for me ie not even a gesture of a discount on the £25 delivery charge… I have since ordered a manhole cover via another company - much, much heavier than a hiblow air pump. This was also delivered by DPD (on time) and I was charged the princely sum of £0.86 for delivery. The hiblow airpump supplied by Direct Drainage is great (as you would expect anyway) - but the total lack of any customer care / gesture of goodwill for the excessive delivery charge and delay in delivery, means I will not be giving this company anymore of my business. Finally, the simple fact that the appropriate category for what this company supplied is not available for this review speaks volumes…just like not configuring their website to incorporate bank holiday delays (which I suspect is the real reason for the delay I experienced as opposed to a ‘technical glitch) Sorry - but you did ask…
