Having tried unsuccessfully to navigate the complexities of extending the lease of our flat, I realised the importance of using a surveyor who has experience in this particular field and who could calculate the cost for extending the lease by using the valuation formula in the Leasehold Reform Housing and Redevelopment Act 1993. After initially contacting several surveyors, I was impressed with Jatinder Dhanoa of HomeReports who explained the process in simple terms and provided a very competitive fixed fee for preparing a report covering the initial inspection of the property, reading the lease, and making all the calculations.
