Insite installed a new kitchen and understairs loo at our house in Sale in November 2012. Although we had talked about a renovation for some time, the impetus to do something about it came from finding out about a RIBA scheme where an architect would call round to discuss a renovation project in return for a £50 donation to Shelter. So Lisa Raynes from Raynes Architecture helped us to build a vision of how our new kitchen might look, and it was Lisa that recommended we should contact Insite. We are always pretty cautious about the building companies we appoint to carry out any work on our home, but what set Insite apart from any building contractor we had previously used is that they called round with each and every one of the tradesmen who were going to be a part of the renovation way before their part of the work commenced. And during the build, each of the tradesmen arrived at the right times, showed respect for our home, and consulted us at every step of the renovation. If I was to pick a highlight from the time they were with us, it would be right at the start when Gordon Smith suggested that the former larder door could be re-used for the understairs loo, both saving us money and recycling a perfectly good door and door jamb. One year on and the kitchen still looks fabulous, with better facilities, more light, and still in keeping with the character of our 1928 house.
