1977 to 1987 Served a 4-year engineering apprenticeship in plumbing and heating with Alexander Thomson, Dunfermline where I remained for a further 6 years gaining experience in domestic and industrial installations which included shopping centres, hospital renovations as well as house installations and domestic maintenance.
1987 to 1993
Neil Saunders Plumbing was established covering industrial, domestic installations and repairs.
1990 – My 15 MINUTES OF FAME
I was regularly carrying out maintenance work at SSPCA – Middlebank bird sanctuary when approached by Mentor films who produced the Challenge Annika series to help with the building of the new seal pool. (BBC1 S2 E2 Nov 17th, 1990)
1993 to 2021 I was offered the position of maintenance plumber at Queen Margaret Hospital. This involved steam boiler, Industrial gas, medical gases, sterilisation and many other medical related Plant and equipment. It was a great experience and I remained with the NHS for 28 years.
2021 -Present
With 45 years Plumbing experience, I have returned to my core values operating
as a sole trader focusing on giving customers good honest advice on
installations and repairs. Feedback tells me that it can be difficult to get
busy plumbers to respond to smaller jobs, but I believe these jobs are every bit as
important. My business is designed for
private domestic work no contractors or subcontract work which keeps me free to
react to customers quickly and efficiently.
