Despite reading a negative review on here, I did my own research and found Damian had done work for several people I know- (the advantage of using a local business) who were pleased with the results. Damian is extremely knowledgable and had lots of ideas on how to turn a sad old shower room into a beautiful functional space. We had several meetings prior to work commencing, and I spent a lot of time with his assistant Christine looking at the various options. Once work started, there was still time to change things a bit, as new ideas came up, and I’ve ended up with a really lovely bathroom that works well for my family and is in keeping with our house. I was really pleased that Damian did the whole refit himself, including the electrics and decorating, meaning that there was no waiting for other trades. Yes, like all tradesmen he did disappear to work on other jobs, which can be frustrating, but my goodness, he is a grafter. Everything has been finished to a high standard, and Damian even repaired my kitchen ceiling where the old shower had leaked, and repainted it at no extra charge. I would definitely use him again.

Although generally pleased with the final result, it took 7 weeks instead of the promised 2 weeks. This also involved starting at 7am and sometimes not finishing 'til 10pm. Often didn't turn up or disappeared partway through the day. Came home from a weekend away when Damien had been working on our bathroom on the Saturday, to find our neighbours having to vacuum and mop the communal hallway because of the dirty state it had been left in. Frequently asked for more money because his card was 'max'd out' at the wholesalers. Sadly, despite wanting to support local independent businesses, we would not use Damien again and would not recommend him to anyone else. Although his work is eventually good, he is a terrible businessman.

Avoid at all costs (& tell anyone you know to do so too) Quote given for 1 x7hr day & costs. Half the work done in 9hrs & payment for those 9hrs + extra costs requested, & due, the next day. Job mostly completed after another 10hrs. Payment for the 10hrs + more costs requested, & due, the next day. No indication of why the job wasn’t completed or when it would be. Starting legal action against us for not paying immediately threatened when the 2nd bill wasn’t paid but nothing heard since when those emails were ignored. Similar experience to others I find when posted about this on social media…. Update: It's funny Damian how you always have an excuse for everyone's complaint/accusations? It's never your fault..... But, to be honest, I'd give up with your excuses now. I think anyone reading all these reviews will see the common thread (you are a lying conman) and steer clear. Update 2: 'As I now have to spend more time and money to involve legal recovery ,' Funny, 'legal recovery' haven't contacted us yet so you might be wasting your time/money on that....

What a mistake to use Personal Life Space Design. I gave a local business a chance at the beginning of the pandemic, and wish I'd known more about this company before I gave them the opportunity to damage my home and leave me in a mess. They charged a lot of money for cheap / damaged goods. I have a toilet cistern that leaks constantly. If you would like 'a skilled tradesman with 30+ years experience' to botch your tiling not once but twice then you have come to the right place. The toilet plumbing makes an extended journey at the wrong angle under the bath. Leaks galore! Every single tradesperson who has since checked out the '30+ years experience' design and installation in my bathroom has said the owner of this company has done this before, and sadly will continue to do so. His reputation amongst his peers is in the toilet - which probably leaks too. When challenged on his ability to tile, Damian threatened to take legal action for slander. When advised by the courts to attend mediation he claimed I hadn't paid him for the work. I had paid him, but perhaps because he wanted to distance himself from this excuse for an installation he returned the money by nosing around in my bedroom and stashing a load of cash. When asked to submit a statement to the courts, he denied fitting the bathroom, claiming I had fitted it all myself. I was involved in the removal of the original bathroom, and he has somehow confused this with me being there trying to keep on top of the mess as me being a bathroom fitter. Three courts dates later, and he's been instructed to pay me just over £6000 back. He hasn't got it of course, and I've given up trying to get my money back now, but do tell your friends all about him. Even better, ask a local tradesperson about him. Save yourself a lot of hassle, and avoid a Personal Life Space Disaster. -UPDATE- March 2022 It has cost mea further £3500 to have the bathroom plumbing and tiling put right and damaged items replaced. PLSD will say they plan to take legal action and claim that this and the other reviews are false. How can so many customers have the same experience? Myself and others are all yet to hear from his legal team, likely because he knows our complaints are very much real.
