London’s Central Area

Imagine stepping out of your front door and having a choice of literally hundreds of bars and restaurants all within walking distance; just one of the luxuries of living in Central London. Add in some of the world’s most famous tourist attractions and the West End’s theatres and you’ll never be stuck for something to do.

There’s obviously some extremely expensive real estate available for those with an unlimited budget but some parts of Central London remain surprisingly affordable considering the location; there are still 1 bedroom flats to be had for under £500,000.

‘Central London’ is not specifically defined but is generally thought to extend from Marble Arch in the west across to Aldgate in the east and from Kings Cross down to Vauxhall. Some of the more residential parts are to the south of the City in areas like Southwark, Pimlico, Borough, South Bank and Shad Thames.

Fantastic transport links are a given when you live in the centre of a big developed city and London is particularly well served. All 12 tube lines and the Docklands Light Railway pass through Central London so you’re never more than a few minutes’ walk from a station. Add 9 mainline stations into the mix and the south-east of the country, and even Paris and Brussels for the more adventurous, really are all within easy reach.

Leasehold extension (London SE1) - Refreshing to deal with a company that did exactly what they said they were going to do. Communication was very efficient and I received knowledgeable responses to my queries in good time (both directly with surveyor and through their offices - even during the lockdown restrictions). We have nothing but great words to say about our experience with Peter Barry Surveyors! They have been so efficient and helpful from the get-go, and managed to secure a survey date on the same day we enquired. We were so pleased with how quick and thorough they were. We were able to call the surveyor after we received our survey to ask any questions, too, which was really helpful as there's quite a bit in there that we didn't understand... Thank you to all involved, particularly Steve for being so knowledgable and Joanne for the great communication throughout the process. Would 100% recommend.
