How to save time and money on your decorating project As a homeowner, I’ve been through quite a few rounds of decorating in various houses I’ve lived in. It usually involves a lots of legwork – from trawling the internet for hours looking for inspiration, to spending a small fortune on match pots. We’ve also made the odd expensive mistake along the way when a colour that looked good on a 1 inch square on a paint chart didn’t look quite as good on the walls! Not so this time because we found Philip Martyn Design and their fabulous colour consultancy service. The whole experience from start to finish was fantastic. After an initial ‘fact finding’ phone call, a specialist colour consultant, Dan, visited us at home. He came well prepared with mood boards of different looks, and I was surprised at how quickly he got to grips with what we liked and what we were trying to achieve with our decorating refresh. Dan brought a whole new dimension to choosing paint colours. He looked at the flow of the house, considered our furniture, curtains, carpets and so on, before making suggestions that we loved, using colour combinations that we would never have thought to use. We agreed the colours there and then. By the time Dan left we couldn’t wait for the decorating to begin. He followed up quickly with a full written specification of which colours to use on each of the walls in each of the rooms he had colour designed for us. And just like that, we were ready to go. No stress, no hassle, no trial and error with pricey paint pots, no trailing around DIY shops or trawling the internet for ideas. We had already booked our decorator through Philip Martyn Design so the decorating began a week later and the whole project finished within two weeks. We are delighted with the end result - it is truly transformational.

We contacted Philip Martyn Design to help us with identifying the right paint colours by room for our entire house (internal, it is a new build and entirely white!). Dominic, our colour consultant, was brilliant - helped us identify colours we liked and already existed in our house and would work well together as a theme throughout - different nuances by room but altogether a theme. Dominic also suggested ways we could add character to each room through furnishings (curtains, cushions, light shades etc). Initially sceptical, my husband (and I) found the experience really engaging and inspiring. We’re looking forward to bringing Dominics recommendations to life! This is something we couldn’t have done without the colour consultancy. Thanks Dominic!

Philip Martyn design is incredible! His design skills and knowledge are top notch, communication is excellent and the vision he has for any space is in a class all by itself. Great to work with! If you're looking for the very best interior designer, look no further! He made our house practical for our everyday life without sacrificing incredible jaw-dropping style. Our house is everything we have ever wanted and more! We were kept up to date every step of the way and truly listened to our design wants and needs. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. Philip Martyn Design was exactly the service I was looking for. Undertaking a major refurbishment (bedrooms, bathroom, kitchen & lounge) I wanted to ensure that the colour schemes I was aiming for would work and flow through the property. Rachael was great to work with from the initial phone conversation through to visiting my property. We covered paint colours on walls and ceilings as well as colour of flooring. Types of fittings were discussed, tiling colours, etc. Details of suppliers given. An invaluable service - why spend thousands on a re-decration and then getting the colour wrong! Once again I can't thank you enough.
