We recently bought our first home with Rectory and it's been a really positive experience. Debbie, our sales advisor, has been fantastic at every stage. We love our home and the quality of the finishing. There's been lots of opportunity from customer care to raise snagging issues but so far we've barely had anything to mention.

We own a house in the Fairfield development in Haddenham and along with 11 houses in the development, we have had nothing but problems with the air source heat pump that Rectory installed. Although the units are high quality, the installation of the units was done by plumbers with minimal experience, which led to every single house having issues, ranging from no heating at all (for weeks at a time), no hot water, units exploding and sky high electricity bills. It took all residents over two years to get Rectory to take any kind of action and when they did finally get experts in to take a look at the systems, they couldn't believe the mistakes that had been made. Although remedial action was taken, we still have no guarantee/assurances that the systems are correctly installed and despite requesting service agreements from Rectory (which we believe should be a minimal goodwill gesture), we are left hoping the units work this winter! Rectory demands a premium for their houses under the premise that they are bespoke and high quality; unfortunately their after care and commitment to quality disappears when you hand over your money!

I purchased a property from Rectory in 2020. Fundamentally, the property build is solid, but the air source heat pump heating/hot water system has been persistently problematic and has caused some eye watering energy bills (this was before energy costs rose). Whilst I accept that new technology can come with teething problems, the lack of ownership from Rectory for circa 2 years was poor. Rectory’s dismissive stance only softened once a neighbour commissioned an independent report which highlighted significant deficiencies. However, as the remedial work was completed by a third party firm, we are now left in a situation where we have no single point of recourse in the event of any further problems with the heating/hot water system. Furthermore, as our electric meters were crossed, we had no way of assessing whether the repairs had been successful in reducing our energy bills. Again, Rectory were absolutely no help in resolving the crossed meter issue, which took me over a year (and countless emails/calls) to fix. Given their supposed positioning as a premium home builder, their consistent lack of ownership has been disappointing - especially given a heating system is one of the more fundamental aspects of house building. A potentially great family home, let down badly by the after sales team and dismissive attitude of the directors.

I recently moved into my Rectory home and couldn’t be happier! As with any house purchase it was a big decision and I looked at a lot of new build house builders and felt most confident moving forward with Rectory. The house is thoughtfully laid out with a high spec throughout. Importantly, the aftercare team can’t be faulted. We had a couple of snags and they have been very responsive and quick to organise remedies, which with the magnitude of moving house and unpacking boxes has been valuable.

I purchased a property from Rectory. Whilst the design and build of the property is good, we have had nothing but problems with our heating. Cold house with 2 small kids over winter and extremely high energy bills. Rectory simply ignored the matter and dismissed it. It was only when Rectory got word that a neighbor had commissioned an independent consultant to check the system out, that they acted. The systems were eventually upgraded after 2 very cold and expensive winters, but unfortunately due to my experience with them, I am not sure to what level as it broke down again last winter. The technician who came to upgrade the system said "an intern in his 3rd week could have done a better job at installing this." Sadly rectory seem to pass the blame onto contractors rather than take ownership of the situation. We didn't buy from contractors, we bought from Rectory. We also had the wrong MPAN numbers linked to our houses meaning we were all paying for each others energy bills (some still are!). Rectory wanted no part in helping with this matter which took me 6 months to resolve it myself. my fixed rate was terminated as the MPAN wasn't linked to my house. I was then put on the variable rate when energy bills went through the roof.
