Ross provided a level 3 survey for us. We chose him based on the services he offered, experience and the good reviews he had. We are happy to sing his praises too! The report was detailed, with lots of photos to demonstrate the points being made. Photos of the roof showed missing and slipped tiles, along with an area of concern due to poor design. He also showed pictures from a thermal imaging camera and a scope within a wall cavity. He investigated a visible damp patch and identified the area in the roof and attic that was responsible (it was that poorly designed area). His tests reassured us that it had been fixed. After we had time to digest the report he took us around the property to show us the items mentioned. This gave us a chance to discuss any concerns and also how to rectify them. We felt confident that we knew what to expect with the property and that we could go ahead and proceed with the purchase without any delays. Something that was also helpful during the meeting was to discuss ideas and plans for alterations to the property. We’re not at the stage to use it yet, but Ross also offers a design service for this. So if you’re looking for a more personal service, as opposed to relying on a typed report to read, then Ross is someone who can provide those little extras that make your biggest purchase a little easier.

We used Ross for a level 2 survey of a potential home purchase. While the purchase fell through anyway, we were really impressed with the detail and care Ross took with the survey and feedback. We are first time buyers and Ross explained bits to us and outlined things that we might need to investigate further as well as timescales on things that might need attention over the following years. I'm so glad that I opted to have Ross carry out a RICS level 2 Homebuyer's Survey on my behalf. As a first time buyer, he's made this part of the process seamless. He offers useful advice and explains things in terms that can be understood so that you definitely have all of the information required to consider whether you want to purchase the property. Not only this but Ross is timely with getting the report back to you and is happy and eager to answer any queries that you may have. He is also thorough with his searches and presents his findings in terms of what you should prioritise should you go ahead with buying the property. We were extremely pleased to have instructed Ross to produce a Level 3 survey and report for a 1930s residential property in Gosforth. His report was very promptly produced, impressively thorough, with a lot of illustrative photos and useful details. He also offered helpful recommendations for improvements to the property, along with cost estimates and timeframes. The report was very easy to understand for non-experts too. We had a 1.5-hour follow-up phone call with him to address all of our questions, and he was always patient and knowledgeable throughout.
